RESPONSE TO C.D. HOWE INSTITUTE'S FLAWED AULD REPORT

Ottawa - The Canadian Renewable Fuels Association today called on the C.D. Howe Institute to withdraw its inherently flawed Commentary, No. 268, July 2008, ‘The Ethanol Trap: Why Policies to Promote Ethanol as Fuel Need Rethinking', by Douglas Auld.
The CRFA commissioned an independent, arms-length review of the Auld report, completed by (S&T)2 Consultants Inc. That report identifies numerous fundamental errors in fact, inconsistent application of research methodology, and questionable assumptions, all leading to erroneous conclusions in the report.
